Season's Gross Out Greetings

It's cold and damp outside, some of us, still have bowels bunged up with fetid turkey and Christmas, others, still not fully recovered from that New Year's hangover. The season of projectile vomiting, blurry eyes, and headaches is over, but don't worry... Our comedy horror musical Restart is coming along swimmingly, and the team editing stage will soon thankfully be upon us. The season for exploding heads, slug slime, and funky dance-orientated singalong tunes, with uniquely (in non-demographic terms) banging baselines. Yes, plans are afore for Restart to make an immediate impact into the terribly conservative world of big-stage drama, once everything has been carefully tweaked, tuned, and ready for its MOT. Once Restart opens at a significantly large venue, it will be time to turn months of planning into action, to "walk the walk" (as Muhammad Ali would say), having "talked the talk", and introduce the world to the wonders and delights of scholockomedy.

Thank you for everyone who has applied to join the Komedy Kollective, and, because there are no limitations for the size of the team, we will continue to offer opportunities to new and emerging artists. Very shortly, the existing team members will be introduced to the "new blood", so we can bond as a team, united in our vision, as theatrical pioneers, to create new ways of engaging audiences, experimenting with new techniques of stage direction, visualisation, and plot transmission, to "break the mould", and create lasting masterpieces of live art, worthy of future reperformance, in a world where disposable plotlines are easily forgotten.

We are not just out to make the next Rocky Horror Show - our mission in life, is to embrace a new genre of fast-action stage entertainment that will appeal to everybody, regardless of background, restoring theatrical performance, to a level of popularity enjoyed by cinema, and updating the traditional modus operandi of drama school, with something different, something absurd yet challengly refreshing, a totally new artform.

As a company, we will be involved with the second meeting of the Yorkshire Theatre Writing Network, on Thursday January 11th 2007, at the Hepworth Room, Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield. The idea for new and emerging theatre practitioners to meet up, and share tips, ideas, and views, is extremely an encouraging step forward for the theatre industry as a whole, and we are happy to be a part of it.

If anybody has any questions they would like to ask, or if anybody would like to get involved in any way, contact details are available via the main website. (click on the link at the top of the page)

We wish everybody who loves theatre or the arts in general, a happy and prosperous new year.
